The Huguely Family Reunion is held annually during the second weekend in August. Until the mid1970’s, it was held during Labor Day Weekend.
Because most of the descendants of Matthew Huguely & Amie Keene are concentrated along the Interstate 75 (I-75) corridor in the midwest, many on the reunions have been held in Richmond and Lexington, KY; Cincinnati and Dayton, OH; and Detroit, MI.
However, a few reunions have been held at far away places including: Denver, CO; Charlotte, NC, WDC/Baltimore, MD; Indianapolis, IN; and Los Angeles, CA.
The host city always plans a fun-filled weekend of activities including: sight-seeing, tours, games for children, fellowshipping, family branch photos, remembrances, a banquet, and business meeting.
To many family members, this annual event can be described as a: homecoming, gathering, confluence, tribe, tree, village, inheritance, and legacy.
As our descendants become ancestors, and the family tree grows, the Huguely Reunion continues on… Yes, we are family!!!
